Non-Kapuso artists are expected to come to the GMA Thanksgiving Gala according to an interview with Senior Assistant Vice President for Alternative Productions Gigi Santiago-Lara and Assistant Vice President for Talent Management Joy Marcelo on Monday, July 25.
Marcelo said it is time for them to be open to everyone.
In the interview with GMANetwork.com, she mentioned, “Meron din naman [non-Kapuso and non-Sparkle artists] kasi time na rin for us to be open to everyone.
“We’re thankful nga kasi we survived, we’re here so bakit naman hindi? Everyone is welcome to join the thanksgiving also.”
Meanwhile, Santiago-Lara said the Network is thankful for they are still standing strong despite the pandemic.
She said, “[Despite the pandemic], nagpapasalamat tayo sa Diyos kasi nandito pa rin tayo. The Kapuso family is standing strong, we are still together. Kumbaga, sama-sama tayo na na-overcome natin ‘yung challenges nung pandemic.
“Naka-mount tayo ng magandang mga projects even during the pandemic, and then itong nakaraan na eleksyon, nagpapasalamat tayo kasi matiwasay naman siya lahat na nangyari.
“Meaning, there’s so many things to be thankful for and our chairman, si FLG [Felipe L. Gozon], lagi niyang sinasabi na magpasalamat tayo sa Diyos kasi hindi niya tayo pinapabayaan.
“This gala is not just a party, an ordinary party, it’s really a form of thanksgiving for all the blessings that we’ve been receiving, not just GMA as a company but also for our artists and our partners.
“Ito na rin ‘yung signal of bigger things to come kasi for so long, [we are] work from home, and then lock-ins and all. Lahat tayo looking forward to normalcy so parang signal ito na, okay na.
“Let’s start a new [chapter] and everyone is hopeful na magiging okay na, not just for GMA but for the industry na balik na tayo kung gaano tayo ka-busy before, ganun na sana.”

The GMA Thanksgiving Gala will take place on Saturday, July 30 at Shangri-La The Fort’s grand ballroom.
