On July 6, Italian-Canadian actor Nico Locco cited the similarities between Filipinos and Italians.
During the media conference for his Viva welcome, Nico described Filipinos as a ball of energy while citing the similarities between Italians and Filipinos.
“They’re such a ball of energy. They’re extremely/ happy to be around. Actually, I’m full Italian. I was born in Italy, so I grew up in an Italian household–I grew up with Italians, and Italians are sobrang similar to Filipinos.”
He also talked about the Pinoys’ and Italians’ love for food.
“Actually, they’re parehas in terms of how they talk to each other, how/ they appreciate family and religion, and appreciate food. When Filipinos have a lot of rice and some good sinigang or adobo, they’re really /happy.”
He then revealed how he has been adjusting and adapting to Pinoy culture and sensitivities throughout his stay in the country.
“With every culture, you have to adjust. I think that is one of my strengths is adjusting to different cultures and adapating. Medyo sensitive ang mga Filipino and that’s okay– a lot of people are sensitive in this world, pero I think you have to– you have to make sure you are not stepping on the wrong toes, and you’re lagi kang respectful sa mga tao. I think that’s a good rule of thumb to follow in life.”
