Vivamax sexy star Katrina Dovey admitted on Thursday, May 5, that the only person that went against her decision to do sexy films was her mother.
Dovey first played a part in the 2021 sexy film Adarna Gang. Doblado marks her second project as a sexy actress.
In the virtual media conference of the movie, she said, “Yung only person na nag-go against was my mom.”
The sexy star explained, “Siyempre noong una, medyo alanganin pa siya and she didn’t want me to do sexy roles talaga.”
But eventually, her mother accepted that she wanted to become a sexy actress.
“But at the end of the day, super supportive po ang mom ko. So now, she’s all out supporting me.”
Regarding the bashing from other people, Dovey just “blocks” all the negativity.
Mankind was born naked, she argued.
“Para sa akin kasi, we were born naked. So I don’t understand kung bakit may malisya ang paghuhubad or seeing naked bodies.”
Moreover, Dovey stressed that what they do is a form of art.
“At the end of the day, alam ko naman po it’s art [that] we’re creating. So nakaka-proud talaga yung outcome once you are able to see it. So wala na lang yung may masasabi. They wouldn’t understand and I can accept that.”
The start of her acting career in the Philippines.
Dovey was a real estate agent back in the United Kingdom before entering the world of showbiz as a sexy star. Her primary motivation to move back to the Philippines was to get close to her grandmother.
She revealed that becoming a sexy actress was due to Lara Morena’s influence.
“Before Viva, I was actually working in the real estate in the UK. Then bumisita ako sa lola ko dito sa Pilipinas. Then I met Tita Lara Morena and she invited me to join Viva,” shared Dovey.
The sexy actress then revealed that she dreamt of working with Morena whom she will be working with on an upcoming project.
“It would be Tita Lara Morena. I am yet to do a project with her. Super excited for that to happen.”
She also would like to work with her friends who are in the entertainment industry as well.
In the meantime, she is part of the upcoming sexy movie Doblado which stars Denise Esteban and Josef Elizalde. The movie is directed by award-winning filmmaker GB Sampedro.
The movie will begin its streaming on Vivamax, starting May 6.
