On Tuesday, July 12, Kim Atienza revealed that he and his former co-hosts Iya Villana and Camille Prats suggested a timeslot for their now-defunct program Mars Pa More.
“We were one of the programs who actually pitched to this timeslot eh. Because we knew that Mars Pa More is a good program pero hirap na hirap doon sa timeslot na 11:45 eh. It was one of the programs that were pitched by the management also to be [at] 11:15,” said Atienza during the virtual media conference of Tiktoclock, GMA Network’s newest game show.
However, the Network decided to stop airing the show, and replace it with a new one.
The Kapuso weatherman got worried that his hosting days–are over but was surprised to know that he would be among the hosts of Tiktoclock. But another problem occurred: breaking the news to Villana and Pratz.
“Ngayon, ang dilemma ko is how to tell…alam mo sa showbiz kasi minsan ang daming nangyayari sa paligid, ikaw ang huling nakakaalam.”
Atienza felt it was his responsibility to tell his former co-hosts the news. He even asked permission from GMA Senior Program Manager Charles Koo to appoint him as the “bearer of bad news.”
“Sabi ko, it’s my duty now, it’s my responsibility to tell Camz, and to tell Iya, first and foremost. Bago pa man makaabot sa kanila galing sa iba na kasama ako sa Tiktoclock, kailangan sa akin manggaling.
“So I called them right away, on that same day. Sabi ko, ‘Iya and Camille, I’m part of the new show. I just found out now through Charles that I’m part of the new show.'”
The news personality shared that they were “so happy for you, we’re praying for you, we hope you succeed.”
Tiktoclock will begin airing on July 25.
