The Kapamilya noontime show started welcoming back live studio audiences on Saturday, July 16.
The madlang pipol will now be gracing It’s Showtime live at the studio, from Monday to Satuday.
On July 16, in its pilot telecast on TV5, the 12-year-old noon time show, welcomed its biggest live studio audience after two years since the pandemic. Back then, the live shows stopped allowing studio audiences, in compliance to ithe mposed government protocols and as the Network’s measure to avoid mass transmission of the COVID-19 virus.
After the pilot airing of It’s Showtime on TV5 last Saturday, a lot suspected that the show would again go on air again without live studio audiences for its succeeding episodes. However on Monday, July 18, netizens and loyal followers delighted when alongside the show’s hosts–were the studio audience.
Netizens rejoiced as the ‘madlang pipol’ jived along Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis, Vhong Navarro, Ogie Alcasid, Amy Perez, Jhong Hilario, Karylle, and the rest of the hosts, once again, in singing the theme song.
It’s Showtime‘s goal to continue allowing the madlang pipol watch the show live at the studio won’t be easy undertaking as strict health and safety protocols are still needed to be observed. Like the hosts, the audiences also need to take rapid antigen test and other measures to ensure the safety of everybody on the set from COVID.
Does that mean live studio audiences have to pay the expensive rapid antigen test to enter the studio? Apparently, not, as the show promised to shoulder the cost of all the tests required to become a studio audience. Based on the invitation sent out by the show’s staff to various netizens to become live studio audiences for the show’s succeeding live episodes.
According to AGB Nielsen National Urban TV Measurement (NUTAM) people data on July 16, It’s Showtime posted a rating of 3.2%, which is almost double than the average rating it got when it was airing just on A2Z and Kapamilya Channel.
