Young singer-actor Kyle Echarri, on Tuesday, July 19, pointed out that he is currently exploring all his options and not just sticking to having an on-screen partner for the rest of his acting career.
“Ako po sa ngayon, gusto kong i-explore kung ano ang mga kaya ko, seeking discomfort, kumbaga. I wanna look for things that I’m not used to and this is something I’m not used to,” he explained during the media conference of his latest project, a musical series called Lyric and Beat.
After exiting the reality singing competition The Voice Philippines, Echarri joined the 2015 series On The Wings of Love. But his big break came in 2018 when he got paired with Francine Diaz in Kadenang Ginto.
The young actor clarified, however, that he was thankful for the opportunity given by the love team he had. Without it, Echarri was uncertain what would have happened to his career.
“Pero masaya po ako sa kung anong mayroon ako, at kung anong nangyayari po sa career ko.”
He added, “Kahit papaano, like I’ve said before, nagpapasalamat ako sa naging career ko dati. I would never be in this position right now if it weren’t for that.”
Furthermore, the Kapamilya talent is trying to prove, not only to people, that success can also be possible even as an independent artist.
“I’m not just really [trying] to prove to people na kaya ko po na mag-isa, pero gusto kong patunayan sa sarili ko talaga.”
Moreover, Echarri explained that having an on-screen partner has a “lot of ups and downs.” His current focus lies on how his career will progress.
“I’m thankful for the experience pero sa ngayon naka-focus ako sa karera ko ngayon at kung saan po ang future ko at saan po ako pupunta.”
His latest project, Lyric and Beat, also has his fellow Gold Squad members Andrea Brillantes and Seth Fedelin along with Darren Espanto, AC Bonifacio, Nyoy Volante, Agot Isidro, Joanna Ampil, Sheena Belarmino, Jeremy Glinoga, and Angela Ken.
Dolly Dulu directs the series and will stream on iWantTFC beginning in August.
