On July 1, Kapamilya artist Kyle Echarri confirmed that he is ready for sexy roles.
During the media conference for Beach Bros, Echarri clarified that although he’s ready to show more skin, he aims to land more mature roles.
“Ready? Yes! Hinahanap ko ba, like am I looking for more and more sexy roles, that’s all I want? Hindi naman sa ganon. I’m looking for whatever management thinks is ready for me.
“But more than anything, I’m ready for more mature roles. Not just katawan, pa-sexy mga ganon, but more mature like characters. More than just the teeny-boppy stuff, I’m looking to show my versatility as an actor more than anything po.”
He then expressed his interest in getting recognized as an actor.
“I want to be known more than just an artista, I want to be known as an actor in that craft. For my next couple of projects, talagang bago ko po tanggapin, bago ko po i-accept, parang gusto ko pong basahin ‘yung script, I really want to know if sa tingin ko bagay sa akin ‘yung character na ‘to or sa tingin ko kaya ko ‘tong character na ‘to.”
He also responded to netizen’s reactions about his recent trending performance in ASAP Natin ‘To, which showed his more daring side.
“Iba kasi ‘yung sinasabi nilang pagka-total performer talaga doon eh. Oo eh, iba po kasi ‘yun. Basta, thank you! Thank you po.”
As for his role in Beach Bros, Echarri admitted that he feels scared taking on a new kind of project.
“But more than ever, this was very hard naman po talaga. I can’t say very hard, but it was hard kasi siyempre first time ko pong gawin ‘to.
“Nakakatakot in a way, kasi hindi mo alam kung babagay ba ‘to sa’yo o kung kaya mo bang gawin ‘to kasi hindi mo pa ginagawa eh. Pero more than anything, I was ready to give my best with this kind of project.”
Kyle Echarri stars in the Kapamilya digital series Beach Bros alongside Chie Filomeno.
The cast includes new Kapamilya artists such as Lance Carr, Brent Manalo, Raven Rigor, Sean Tristan, Kira Balinger, and Angelica Lao.
