Kapuso’s young heartthrobs Kelvin Miranda, Abdul Raman, and Shaun Salvador, on Monday, June 6, expressed how lucky they are to work with returning actress Rufa Mae Quinto.
They are part of the upcoming sitcom Tols, wherein they are triplets. Miranda will play Uno, Raman as Third, and Salvador as Dos.
Quinto leads the show as Barbara “Barbie” Macaspac, an entertainer in Japan. Betong Sumaya will be playing for the first time as a villain, with Arkin Del Rosario also added into the mix.
In an interview, Miranda said, “Siyempre nakakatuwa. First of all, sa muling pagbabalik ni Ms. Peachy…kami ang unang nakasama niya sa comeback sa show din. So nakakatuwa, nakakataba ng puso. Marami [din] kaming natutunan sa kanya sa set.”
The actress just ended her hiatus after living in America for a while. She just returned to the Philippines on March 17.
Quinto said that she missed acting as to why she accepted the project.
“Kasi na-miss ko ang sitcom,” she shared.
The actress-comedian even joked, “Talagang pang-sitcom ang beauty ko eh, hahaha charot!”
The sitcom was also special to her as it marked her return as a Kapuso.
“Napaka-espesyal kasi nga una, nagbalik ako—first time ulit—first time sa GMA. Matagal po akong nawala, mula pa no’ng Bubble Gang 2013. Nag-asawa, kinasal, everything. So ilang years ‘yon? Halos sampung taon.”
Meanwhile, Salvador revealed that there was only happiness during the taping of Tols.
“Sobrang saya na umaabot sa point na nagkakalokohan na ang lahat.”
On the other hand, Raman admitted it was a challenge doing comedy.
“I would say I enjoyed comedy much more than drama. Pero sitcom is much harder than drama. Pero overall, lahat naman nae-enjoy ko.”
The young Kapuso artist also added that he aspires to be a comedian and would follow Sumaya’s footsteps.
“Hindi po talaga ako comedian. Aspiring lang po. Gusto ko pong maging [isang] Betong.”
Starting June 25, Tols will be airing every Saturday at 7 p.m; on GTV.
