On July 21, Viva artist Jamilla Obispo talked about her transformation with her recent Viva projects.
At the media conference for the Vivamax original series Wag Mong Agawin Ang Akin, Obispo compared her recent change as an artist to a butterfly’s evolution from a cocoon.
“I think hindi ko naman siya sinasadya na gawin, through time, I’ve been here sa industry na ‘to for how many years, mag-aano siya, kumbaga parang nasa cocoon, lalabas ka, at magiging butterfly, mag-eevolve ka talaga.
“Because of your– mga nagawang projects, it will–mag-eevolve ka because of that. It will make you a better person.”
Obispo also detailed the challenges faced by sexy stars, especially during their nude scenes.
“Of course, napakahirap mag-hubad–it takes a lot of courage and brave way to do that. Kumbaga parang lakas lang ng dibdib, kumbaga hindi siya madali gawin, napakahirap. But with the support system, pinadali nila, with the productions and everything, pinadali nila ‘yun.”
As for her most recent project, she confirmed that ‘Wag Mong Agawin Ang Akin is her most challenging role yet.
“This one is more challenging, compared doon sa mga last projects na nagawa ko with Vivamax kasi, mas marami silang aabangan dito. Mas maraming hindi ko naipakita dito compared doon sa last projects ko. Kumbaga, mas bongga ‘to. As in, ‘yun ang masasabi ko, talagang pinaghirapan ang bawat eksena.”
Obispo began her career in 2006 after exiting the Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition. She then worked to teleseryes such as ‘Mara Clara’ and ‘Nasaan Ka, Elisa.’
Her career as a Viva artist began with the 2021 movie Mahjong Nights, followed by Kinsenas, Katapusan.
As for her most recent role, Obispo stars in the Vivamax Digital series Wag Mong Agawin Ang Akin, alongside Felix Roco and Angeli Khang.
Under the direction of Mac C. Alejandre, Wag Mong Agawin Ang Akin streams via Vivamax starting July 31.
