The two shows started airing in a back-to-back time slot on TV5, A2Z, and Kapamilya Channel, last Saturday, July 16.
After both posting their highest TV ratings in two years, on Saturday, July 16, Tropang LOL and It’s Showtime, continue to track an upward trend in TV ratings. According to AGB Nielsen’s National Urban TV Measurement (NUTAM) data, the pilot back-to-back airing of the two shows generated a 2.9% and 3.2% people rating, for Tropang LOL and It’s Showtime, respectively. These figures are notably almost twice as high as their previous average ratings, on their previous time slots.
The latest data from AGB Nielsen showed that both Tropang LOL and It’s Showtime, further improved in TV ratings, as the two shows both posted a 3.4% people rating for their July 18 episodes. It is worth noting that both shows adjusted to a different time slot, with Tropang LOL moving to an earlier 11:00 am slot, while It’s Showtime moved to a later 12:45 pm slot. The two shows notably lost a chunk of their respective original air time.
Before their back-to-back airing, Tropang LOL used to air only on TV5, while It’s Showtime aired exclusively on A2Z on free TV, Kapamilya Channel on pay television, and online via Kapamilya Online Live and iWantTFC. Tropang LOL can now be watched both via Kapamilya Channel and A2Z, and it also now streams via Kapamilya Online Live. Overseas, both shows are accessible through The Filipino Channel (TFC) and its IPTV service.
Tropang LOL’s transfer to an earlier slot came ahead of the debut of GMA Network’s new late morning variety show, Ticktoclock, which premieres on July 22. Currently, the noontime block is ruled by the undisputed number one noontime show, Eat Bulaga.
It will be interesting to see, which tandems—Tropang LOL/It’s Showtime and TickToClock/Eat Bulaga—will rule the noon time slot. So let us see.
