Cristy Fermin, on Thursday, July 7, figured out that there might be a problem between the collaboration of ABS-CBN and TV5, with It’s Showtime going back-to-back with Lunch Out Loud—Bobet Vidanes.
In the episode of Cristy Ferminute, the showbiz reporter recalled the issue between the hosts of the Kapamilya noontime show and Vidanes, its former director.
“In-announce na dito sa atin kahapon na magba-back-to-back na po ang Lunch Out Loud at It’s Showtime. Dito na po (TV5) mapapanood ang It’s Showtime. Ano na kaya ngayon ang magaganap?” wondered Fermin.
She then asked her co-host, Romel Chika, “Naalala mo ‘yung isyu ni Direk Bobet Vidanes?”
Fermin remembered that Vidanes made his way to TV5 after ABS-CBN lost its franchise license.
“Lumundag siya mula sa Showtime. Siya ‘yung kapitan ng barko, iniwan niya ang kanyang mga tripulante. Papano ‘yan ngayon? ‘Yung iniwan niyang programa, andito na ngayon sa TV5 at ka-back-to-back pa sa isa sa mga pinamamahalaan niyang programa, ang Lunch Out Loud. Pa’no na ngayon ‘yan?”
Chika then said, “Pressure para kay Direk, I’m sure,” which the entertainment reporter responded, “At sigurado maraming maraming mga lalabas na mga kwento diyan.”
Earlier on October 21 last year, Vidanes revealed that the reason for him leaving It’s Showtime was to “prioritize his health.”
He explained that his exit was not because of money but because working with ABS-CBN became
“toxic.”
“Pinili ko yung health kasi yung pagtatrabaho ko sa kabila hindi na po healthy, mamamatay po akong maaga. Ang ganda ng programa pero it’s not healthy anymore.
“To make it short, I’m here sa Lunch Out Loud or any program, no pressure, I am happy now.
“It’s not about the money, it’s about health. Sana po naiintindihan n’yo.”
Meanwhile, ABS-CBN has announced that It’s Showtime will be aired on TV5 starting July 16 at 12:45pm.
