GMA Network continues to prove its free TV supremacy even on weekends, as its programs dominate Saturday and Sunday programming.
On Saturday, July 16, Tropang LOL and It’s Showtime joined forces and aired on TV5, A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, and Jeepney TV as pre-noontime and noontime programs, facing GMA Network’s Eat Bulaga.
Despite that, Eat Bulaga still led the timeslot with a 5.3% rating, while Tropang LOL and It’s Showtime earned 2.9% and 3.2%, respectively.
GMA Network’s Apoy sa Langit also faced It’s Showtime but, the TV series earned 6.2%.
The afternoon programs of GMA Network, Tadhana, Wish Ko Lang, and Imbestigador, joined the Top 10 chart of AGB Nielsen with 5.7%, 8.7%, and 5.3%, respectively. Their rival programs failed to join the rating chart.
The Saturday news program of GMA Network, 24 Oras Weekend ranked #2 on the leaderboards, earning 11.5% while TV Patrol only earned 1.9%.
For primetime, Jose and Maria’s Bonggang Villa remained in the #3 spot with 10.8% while Idol Philippines settled in the 11th spot with 4.4%.
GMA Network’s drama anthology Magpakailanman topped the Saturday programming with 12.4% while Maalaala Mo Kaya only earned 2.7%.
For Sunday, All Out Sundays earned 4.2% while ASAP Natin ‘To earned 2.9%.
ABS-CBN’s FPJ Da King earned 4.2%, with only a 0.2% lead against GMA Network’s GMA Blockbuster.
Kapuso Sunday afternoon programs Regal Studio Presents and Amazing Earth earned 4.9% and 7.0%, respectively while their rival programs failed to enter the leaderboards.
24 Oras Weekend dropped to the #3 spot on Sunday with 12.6% TV Patrol settled at the bottom of the chart with 2.2%.
Daig Kayo ng Lola Ko secured the 4th spot with 10.5% while its rival Idol Philippines ranked 13-14th with 3.6%.
Happy ToGetTher earned a 13.0% rating versus He’s Into Her which earned 1%. The replay episode of The Boobay and Tekla Show earned 4.4%.
Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho remained the most-watched Sunday program with 16.8%.
Even on weekend programming, GMA Network programs remain winners in their respective timeslots, proving the Kapuso supremacy in free TV.
