In an Instagram post on Tuesday, July 5, actress-beauty queen-host Giselle Sanchez asked netizens to spare her from bashing for her controversial role in Maid in Malacañang.
Sanchez said she blindly accepted the project because she is an actress.
“Finally doing a project with Direk #darrylyap. I must admit that this role is going to be very controversial and I may be bashed for this but please bear in mind that I am an actress. Artists just play a role given to them. When I accepted this film, I accepted it blindly, not knowing my role, the length of my participation in the film nor the contents of the script,” she wrote.

She also added that she trusted Maid in Malacañang director Darryl Yap and her talent agency.
She added, “I trusted my handler from @vivaartistsagency and I trusted Direk Daryl’s judgment that I will be fit for the role. Wala pong personalan, trabaho lang po.”
Maid in Malacañang stars Cesar Montano, Ruffa Gutierrez, Diego Loyzaga, Cristine Reyes, Ella Cruz, Beverly Salviejo, Karla Estrada, Elizabeth Oropesa, Kiko Estrada, and Senator Robin Padilla.
The film will feature the last 72 hours of the Marcoses inside the Malacañan Palace.
