Sparkle’s resident boy-next-door Kim De Leon makes his fans trust in love again with his first-ever single under GMA Playlist, “Safe With Me.”
Composed by Natasha Correos, the song is about loving someone without reservations. It’s about being patient and giving reassurance to the one you love. A reminder that someone is willing to stay and be part of your healing process until you’re ready to open your heart once more.
Kim admitted that he very much relates to the song, “Ako as an overthinker, gusto kong pinapakinggan yung song kasi nakakapagpakalma siya sa akin whenever I worry about something. Nakaka-relate ako kasi kailangan ko rin nang may magsasabi na ‘you’re safe with me and don’t worry.’”
Meanwhile, he shared that he’s open to collaborating with other Kapuso singers. “Lagi kong naiisip [for collab] si Kuya Garrett Bolden kasi sobrang magkaiba kami ng genre at style. Since naka-close ko na rin siya at palagi kaming magkasama sa dressing room ng All-Out Sundays, pag nagkakantahan kami doon, sobrang nagagalingan ako sa kanya at saka sobrang bait niya. Napag-usapan na namin yun na open siya sa mga collab, sa mga ginagawa niyang song,” said Kim.
When asked for his next plans, “Another single. Well sana pero we’ve been working with another song.” Right now he’s mostly excited with his first single and he’s hoping that Kapuso listeners will truly appreciate the song.
Kim’s “Safe With Me” was also chosen to be one of the official soundtracks of GMA Public Affairs’ mystery-romance series’ Love You Stranger,’ where he plays Diego.
Tune in to “Safe With Me” beginning July 8 on digital streaming platforms worldwide.
