Kapuso actor Gabby Concepcion confirmed on Wednesday, June 22, that he will be running for office in the 2025 midterm polls.
Concepcion, 57, is believed to be gunning for a congressional seat.
However, there’s no revelation about the place or district he will be running for as congressman.
If it is true, this will be the second time he has tried to enter politics. The actor ran for mayor in San Juan City but lost.
Apparently, this defeat made him think he was best suited to be an actor.
Earlier, Concepcion said in an interview earlier this year that he has no plans to enter politics.
“Nagkaroon na ho ako ng konting experience diyan, pero sa ngayon, wala ho,” he said. “Tungkol sa eleksyon, wala akong pressure dahil hindi naman talaga ako tatakbo.”
Currently, the Kapuso artist continues to play a politician in First Lady, the sequel of the hit series First Yaya. He plays as President Glenn Acosta, the president of the country.
In the meantime, there is no statement from the actor’s camp regarding his upcoming political run.
