FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, the six-year-old Kapamilya primetime action-drama series, inched closer to reigning in its timeslot; and has beaten Bolera for the first time in TV ratings.
The series is on a record-breaking streak, but this time in the TV rating game. After posting its highest post-shutdown TV rating of 13.1% on Friday, July 8, and again on Monday, July 11 with 13.2%, the top-rated series climbed further on the Top 30 chart.
Not only did the Coco Martin-starrer make Lolong‘s lead shrink to just 1.6%, but it also outranked Bolera for the first time, to become the second most-watched drama, as well as the third highest rated program, in the country.
Only Kapuso programs, 24 Oras, and Lolong rated higher with 17.9% and 15.5% people rating, respectively.
According to AGB Nielsen’s National Urban TV Measurement (NUTAM) people data, on Tuesday, July 12, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano is well ahead of the Kapuso sports drama by 0.8% — 13.9% vs 13.1%.
This is the first time that FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano reclaimed the Top 3 spot, since Bolera‘s debut on GMA Telebabad in May.
FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano has also been on a record-breaking spree on Kapamilya Online Live on YouTube, where it is being streamed live for online audiences. On Monday, July 11, the concurrent live viewers of the show peaked at 350,000, which is already the highest since it debuted on the platform in 2020.
Titled Ipaglaban, the July 11 episode saw the death of Jaime Fabregas’s character, General Delfin Borja.
Fabregas is notably the last show’s cast member other than Coco Martin, who was part of the series since it debuted on September 28, 2015. The episode also saw the armed conflict between Task Force Agila and Armando’s (John Estrada) team, reaching a new height and inevitably claiming the lives of some of the leading characters.
