The travel agency takes pride in its custom-fit travel and tour packages that are tailor-made for every client’s liking.
Exploring the practically unadulterated natural wonders of Southern Palawan, especially the enchanting islands of Balabac, would not have been fun had it not for Palaweña. Its founder, Wineth Malvar, was not lying when she promised that my trip would be unforgettable.
An endless and immense streak of getaway waiting for you once you book at Palaweña.
I was able to prove that myself, having just fully experienced the perks of exploring Balabac the Palaweña way. Emerald waters, powder white and rosy beaches, and rolling hills that seemingly invite visitors to stay longer, welcome you once you set foot on the island.
Through the years, tourist arrivals in the southern portion of Palawan have been on a steady rise. It has been Miss Malvar’s dream to divert some of the massive tourism traffic in the North, specifically in popular destinations such as El Nido and Coron, into checking out the unspoiled wonders of the South, especially the archipelagic municipality of Balabac.
The travel and tours agency Malvar founded takes pride in tour packages developed to bring wellness to clients.
The company seemingly understands that vacations should take away the stress and boost well-being, hence the tour packages they offer that specifically meet the client’s demands. Palaweña found a way to integrate natural wellness with community immersion, to create more tangible and uplifting experiences.
Balabac lies at the very tail of the very lengthy Palawan island which stretches 425 kilometers from its northern to the southern tip. Understandably, most who have not reached the place would be discouraged by its far location. Wineth and her team at Palaweña, however, ensure that providing comfort to their clients is a top priority.
Throughout my trip, I was personally ensured of both my safety and comfort, and I can attest that the service I received is premium.
Malvar’s years of experience in the corporate world, somewhat equipped her to foresee and thus, deal with, the complications and challenges she may face in setting up Palaweña. Through her experiences, she acquired an intense desire to develop mechanisms that challenge practices that are unfavorable to the client’s well-being.
Having been in the travel business for just around a year, she is undoubtedly in an exploration stage, but it is not that to see the knowledge she has already acquired in running the business.
I felt safe, well-provided, and respected. Above all, I found the peace and wellness that I longed for–for the longest time, through Palaweña’s immersive tour packages.
I learned that it took Miss Wineth around seven years of research, brainstorming, and personal experiences, before realizing her Palaweña dream. Once she felt it was finally time, she sprung into the travel and tours business with just a small staff. A year later, the company she built is already among the busiest and most trusted emerging travel agencies in the entire province of Palawan.
Sustaining her business in its forward momentum–she takes on her new role very seriously.
To better her company’s services, she continues to find ways of improving and harnessing new ideas and possibilities. Over the past year, she has worked with various community partners and other groups or institutions to ensure a sustainable travel ecosystem; built across the province.
She seems to understand that establishing links among various stakeholders is essential in achieving sustainability in the line of work she braved to embrace.
On my trip to Pandanan Island, I saw why Miss Malvar’s vision worked. Sir Nestor Gabinete Jr, the barangay chief, accompanied me on a much-needed leisure walk, which had both my eyes and mind satiated.
Pandanan’s crystal clear blue waters are certainly a majestic beauty to behold, but other than that Capt. Gabinete provided an ‘interesting’ tour, brimming with cultural and historical tidbits about the place.
Walking along Pandanan’s [almost] immaculate coastline, the way of life of the island locals unraveled like clips of a film in front of my eyes. I witnessed the people wading through the shallow waters along the coast–some trying to grope through the waters with their feet and hands for valuable objects that might be of monetary value to them.
One can see beauty and pain take a see-saw battle in these people’s lives, but for some reason, they opt to see the beauty in their lives. It is a contentment one can only aspire for in having.
Palaweña’s unparalleled services are also anchored upon the accommodation it affords to its clients. I personally love the beach house we stayed in. The meals we savored are totally out of this world, as I enjoyed every sip, bite, and mouthful, of delicious dishes and beverages they offered.
My time in Palawan surely would not have been as memorable without Palaweña. Should I find myself missing Balabac and other travel spots in the province again, I am definitely not letting any other team but Miss Wineth’s handle my itinerary.
