On Saturday, July 9, Comedian-singer Ethel Booba disagreed with how some parents tend to force what they want on their kids, which, according to her, is a “wrong parenting” move.
May mga ganoon talaga eh,” said Booba during Sing Galing Kids’ Arkidia press conference in Vista Mall Taguig.
She even recalled how “unhappy” some of her cousins were after being forced into something they did not want.
In her case, however, the passion for singing was always there. Booba recalled how supportive her mother was during the time when she used to frequent singing competitions and won every time.
“Actually, ang nagpursigi sa akin na kumanta is ‘yung nanay ko. 4 years old, kumakanta na talaga ako. Kahit saan-saan talaga nakakarating kami.
Although she was a winner in singing contests, Booba had no similar luck in a beauty contest, in which she felt “rejected.”
Doon ako sumablay,” she jest.
