On June 25, Viva artist Diego Loyzaga revealed his family’s close ties with the Marcoses.
At the media conference for Maid in Malacañang, Loyzaga recounted the stories told by his family about their connection with the Marcos family.
“Ako po personally, hindi ko pa po name-meet si Sir Bongbong Marcos. Not yet, I have not met him yet, although naikwento na sa akin ng pamilya ko, ng nanay ko na bata pa lang siya, naisasama siya ng lolo ko sa loob ng Malacañang at binibitbit pa dati ng lolo ko si batang– si President Bongbong Marcos.”
He then expressed excitement about meeting the newly elected President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr.
“And amazing na marinig ko ‘yun na ganon ka-close ang family ko with the Marcoses before noon, noon pa lang, but ako personally, hindi ko pa name-meet si sir Bongbong, but I’m waiting for the day na ma-meet ko siya.”
He then cited the similarities he discovered while researching his role as a young BBM in Maid in Malacañang.
“May similarities ako sa kanya, and I have to say mayroon po talaga, at sa relasyon nilang dalawa na mag-ama, may unting nasabi sa akin si Sen. Imee na how he drives, is the same way I drive, but I won’t disclose anymore kung anong klaseng pag-da-drive iyon. And ‘yung mga ginagawa niya noong kabataan niya, ay parehas din po sa mga ginagawa ko ngayon sa kabataan ko. So hindi po kami magkakalayo sa ugali.”
Loyzaga stars in Maid in Malacañang alongside a stellar cast including Cesar Montano, Ruffa Gutierrez, Cristine Reyes, Ella Cruz, Karla Estrada, Beverly Salviejo, and Elizabeth Oropesa.
Directed by Darryl Yap and produced by Viva Films, Maid in Malacañang premieres in theaters worldwide on July 20.
