On July 1, during a media conference, artist Chie Filomeno admittted that she admires her Beach Bros co-star Kyle Echarri.
She confessed that she felt amazed by Echarri’s singing talent while they were inside the Pinoy Big Brother house.
“Alam naman po ni Kyle that I admire him so much sa talent niya, and napapanood ko rin po ‘yung mga naganapan na po niya under Dreamscape.
“Ayun, kasi ang galing din niyang kumanta talaga, as in mayroon one time sa loob ng Bahay–hindi ko pa napanood ‘yung music video, pero mayroon siyang isang kanta na akala ko international, ‘yun ba ‘yun? ‘Yung Fuego?
“‘Yun ‘yung kanta na akala ko international, tinigilan ko siyang kumanta, ‘huwag mong kantahin ‘yan.’ Sabi niya, ‘that’s my song.’ Oh wow ang galing, ang ganda.”
In 2021, Filomeno and Echarri joined the Pinoy Big Brother Kumunity Season 10, wherein they were one of the pairings intently followed by the audience of the reality TV show.
As for her experience of taping the series with Echarri, Filomeno recounted how the Kapamilya artist took care of her.
“Nakakatuwa lang, there was this one scene, na medyo I’m not feeling my best, pero Kyle made sure na it’s okay na gawin ko ‘yung gusto kong gawin doon sa eksena. Mayroon kaming–naramdaman niya, and then binigyan niya ako ng look and then he told me na, ‘just do what you need to do.’ ‘Yung mata niya and sinabi niya din.”
Echarri then recounted how he anticipated Filomeno’s needs while they were taping the scene.
“Makikita ninyo po ‘yung eksena eh. Medyo nakakagulat po ‘yung eksena, tanungin niyo po si Direk, na nagulat po talaga kami doon sa mangyayari kasi wala siya sa script eh. ‘Yung pinagawa po ni Direk sa amin. Tapos noong sinabi niya po sa amin, sabi namin, ‘wait lang, gagawin ba namin talaga ito?’
“Parang naiilang kami sa eksena, pero sabi ko sa kanya, alam mo naman– kasi the way I look at it, all actors know their character more than anyone, and if she thinks na gagawin ng character niya or kailangan para sa series na ‘to na gawin niya ‘to, ikaw na ang bahala doon, kasi character mo ‘to eh. It’s up to you if you think that this is something that you should do. If you’re comfortable do it, if not, ba’t mo naman gagawin.”
Kyle Echarri and Chie Filomeno star in the Kapamilya digital series Beach Bros.
The digital series also includes new Kapamilya artists such as Lance Carr, Brent Manalo, Raven Rigor, Sean Tristan, Kira Balinger, and Angelica Lao.
