On July 9, Angela Morena suggested that the Department of Education encourage teachers to get their students to be more open when discussing sex.
During the media conference for the remaining episodes of High On Sex, Morena shared her recommendation for the new DepEd Head and Vice President of the Philippines, Sara Duterte.
“Natuturo siya sa school, hindi po siya nabibigyan ng pansin, at hindi lang siya nagiging open sa lahat ng mga estudyante, siguro if I would have the chance to the head of the DepEd, siguro ishashare ko lang na siguro mas i-encourage nila ‘yung mga teachers para mai-encourage nila ‘yung mga bata to be open. Pagdating sa sex, kasi 2022, na tayo and I think sex is normal na sa ating lahat.”
When asked if she favored distributing condoms in schools, Morena refrained from commenting. Instead, she entrusted the decision to policymakers.
“And regarding condoms sa school, hindi ko alam kung ano, I have no comment, pero gusto ko ‘yung mga proper, ‘yung mga assigned na tao ‘yung mag-decide, kasi I think they are knowledgable enough na– kasi nag-aano sila niyan eh, nag-oobserve, bago nila i-implement ang isang bagay. So sila na siguro ang bahala doon, and hindi ko alam kung kailangan ba ng condom sa school or sa labas.”
As for the series, Morena recalled the feedback she received from netizens regarding her role in the Vivamax original series.
“Puro positive po ‘yung mga naririnig ko, through personal message, through Instagram, minemessage nila ako, sa mga comments. Sobrang nao-overwhelm ako, sobrang nakakataba ng puso kasi ang daming nag-aabang, ang daming natutuwa, lalo na sa character ni Mavic na very kwela siya, very energetic. And sobrang saya ko po, ang very grateful na sa akin binigay ‘to.”
