According to Andrea Brillantes, Maymay Entrata, and Kim Chiu, on Friday, July 1, shared their secret to achieving confidence.
In the virtual media conference for the upcoming 30th celebration of Star Magic, Entrata started by sharing her experience of going from being a nobody to becoming a successful young actress.
She said that “kailangan mo siyang pagtrabahuhan” and hone it to perfection. It does not happen in a snap, she says.
“Para sa akin, talagang nanggagaling iyon sa sipag at tiyaga talaga. So as much as possible, kung kailangan mong pag-aralan iyong mga fields na dapat mong i-improve like singing, dancing, or hosting, go lang nang go. Kasi at the end of the day, ikaw lang din ‘yung makaka-benefit sa mga pinag-aralan mo. Para kahit saan man tayo isalang, eh lagi tayong prepared,” explained Entrata.
Brillantes agreed with her co-Star Magic artist, adding that being comfortable with one’s body and a nice environment could boost a person’s confidence. Furthermore, being an actress with years of experience is also a significant factor.
“Nakatulong din ang years of experience sa pag-akting, dancing, singing. So very sanay na rin po kasi ang katawan ko, ‘yung mental state ko sa lahat ng ginagawa ko. Very aware na rin siya sa mga kailangan kong gawin sa work ko.
“Nakakatulong din po ang love na binibigay sa akin ng fans ko. Kasi kung nakikita ko na mahal na mahal nila ako eh sino ba ako para hindi maging confident ako sa kung anong mayroon ako. Mahal din at ine-enjoy ko ang katawan at life na binigay sa akin ni Lord. So i-flaunt ko rin as much as possible ang talents and gifts na mayroon ako.”
Meanwhile, Chiu pointed out that a person should be mentally prepared for all the negativity, especially with the rise of digital platforms.
“Confidence, it’s a big word. Dapat mentally, and physically, you believe in yourself, and dapat tough ka as a person. Para in order for you to have that big confidence to perform in front of people, in person, or in online.
“Lalo na now, we live in digital era, so it’s easier for people to break you. Out of the ten positive feedbacks, mayroon diyan, if mahina ka, and hindi ka confident sa ginawa mo, parang mabe-break you and parang madi-discourage ka in everything that you do. So you have to be mentally tough aside from being physically tough or physically present.”
Joining them in the Star Magic US Tour called Star Magic 30: Beyond the Stars are Zanjoe Marudo, Carlo Aquino, Charlie Dizon, Edward Barber, Donny Pangilinan, Alexa Ilacad, Belle Mariano, KD Estrada, Maris Racal, and Gigi De Lana. It will begin on July 23 at the Newport Performing Arts Center before flying to New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles on August 6, 12, and 14.
