On July 18, artists Adrianna So and Kych Minemoto recalled how the Boys Love series changed them.
At the media conference for their Gameboys spin-off movie PaThirsty, So attributed the success of her career to the BL series.
“Simula po talaga ‘to ng Gameboys lahat. So Gameboys, to me, is not just a show that you know made it international, [or] received a lot of awards, or made a dent in my career.”
She also noted the Gameboys series gave her purpose and a platform to promote equality.
“Gameboys for me somehow gave me a purpose to like– it’s like a baby step towards equality, ‘yung message ng story. And it gave me a platform to share what [other] /people can’t share. That’s why I’m really grateful for it.”
As for Minemoto, he cited that the series and his character Achilles helped him understand himself more.
Si Achilles kasi napaka emotional and very strong, parehas kami.
He then shared his realizations while portraying his character, Achilles, in Gameboys.
“And ‘yung process ko with Achilles, sobrang haba talaga, as in. Sobrang dami kong natutunan.
Adrianna So and Kych Minemoto star in the Gameboys spin-off movie, PaThirsty. The cast includes Alex Diaz, Chad Kinis, Bob Jbeili, and Kate Alejandrino.
