Performer-actors Darren Espanto and AC Bonifacio on Friday, July 15, revealed that no arguments that come between them can keep them from being unprofessional toward each other.
Espanto, 21, and Bonifacio, 20, were best of friends.
They were both working on the upcoming musical series Lyric and Beat.
Fights are usually normal among friends but in the case of the two, it rarely affects their work relationship.
There was an instance, however, when they had a “dramatic moment.” Both Bonifacio and Espanto had a petty quarrel, leading to them crying with each other.
“One night, we were just on the balcony, just us two. Tapos ang referee po namin is Angela Ken at si Kyle (Echarri),” he recalled.
His co-star then said, “Nag-aaway kami sa balcony and then he was like… umiyak ka no’n! Umiyak si Darren!”
The reason was that Espanto, in Bonifacio’s words, became “weird” and “aloof.” In turn, she stopped talking to him, which led to the confrontation.
But the good thing was that they did not allow it to happen while working on the series.
“I think one thing I love about us, not just us but also the cast, kapag trabaho po talaga, trabaho,” explained Bonifacio.
“Like we go through things, but the second we’re on set, focus po kami. We make sure that we do it properly and get it done.”
Espanto added, “Hindi namin dinadala ang personal problems namin sa set.”
He also said that there should be no room for any arguments in a series like Lyric and Beat.
“Mas marami tayong light moments. So we have to get rid of that hindi pagkakaunawaan sa isa’t-isa. Kailangan pagdating sa set, kailangan prepared ka and you’re professional about everything.”
Lyric and Beat also stars Andrea Brillantes, Seth Fedelin, Nyoy Volante, Agot Isidro, Joanna Ampil, Sheena Belarmino, and Jeremy Glinoga. It is directed by Dolly Dulu and will premiere in August on iWantTFC.
