Kapamilya actress Lovi Poe was teary-eyed on June 20, and thankful for working with Flower of Evil Cast, Viu, and ABS-CBN.
During the grand launch of Flower of Evil, Poe expressed her gratitude for Viu, ABS-CBN, and Dreamscape while highlighting that she’s a fan of the network and the streaming service.
“It’s been great working with this team. You know it’s my first time to work here as a Kapamilya and I’ve been truly blessed to work with Viu, number one ‘yung pangarap ko kasi ever since talagang–since I’m a huge K-Drama fan, dinownload ko talaga ‘yung Viu, and now gumagawa ako ng proyekto with you.
“And ever since, I’ve been a huge fan of ABS-CBN and /also Dreamscape. So parang to be given the opportunity to work with such an /amazing team is just great.”
She also admitted that she had a transitioning period when she first transferred to the Kapamilya Network.
“It’s my first project, and you know transitioning wasn’t the easiest thing, but then with the help of everyone here, thankful din ako. Kay Denise din, isa siya sa mga unang kumausap sa akin and made me feel comfortable and so was everybody.”
She then recalled how the cast and crew of Flower of Evil made her comfortable while taping for the Filipino adaptation.
“So I was just like having my first day on set was like difficult, kasi all of a sudden, a new environment and everyone’s new. And it was hard, and as the day went by, talaga parang, I wasn’t myself at the beginning, and I was having such a hard time, but with the help of everyone, it felt great.
“Parang as simple as ‘yung sinabi sa akin ni Kuya Adler and Kuya Fred, ‘Huwag kang mag-alala, nandito kami para sayo.’ So doon ko na-realize na parang oh yes I’m a part of a new family now and these people want me to do well.”
Flower of Evil stars the newest ABS-CBN actress, Lovi Poe and Piolo Pascual alongside a Kapamilya all-star cast including JC de Vera, Agot Isidro, Denise Laurel, Epy Quizon, Rita Avila, Jett Pangan, Pinky Amador, Joross Gamboa, Joko Diaz, and Edu Manzano.
The Filipino adaptation of the Korean series, directed by Darnel Villaflor and Richard Arellano, premieres first on Viu on June 23 and 24 and Kapamilya Channel and A2Z on June 25 and 26.
