On May 31, actress Sue Ramirez recalled supporting her boyfriend, Javi Benitez, during his mayoral campaign in the 2022 elections.
During the media conference for How to Love Mr. Heartless, Ramirez considered her support for Benitez as the craziest thing she did for love.
“Siguro ito ‘yung recent lang, sa current boyfriend ko. When he was running for mayor, talagang nag-full support ako. I think ‘yun talaga ‘yung craziest thing that I ever had to do for love.”
She also highlighted the opportunities she had to sacrifice to show her support for her boyfriend.
“Siyempre, iba ‘yun eh, ‘yung i-immerse mo, siyempre may pandemic–i-immerse mo ‘yung sarili mo sa maraming tao and really the sacrifice of your health and siyempre all of the energy, may mga trabaho ding nasagasaan, pero I really wanted to do that for him.”
She noted that she’s very content with her career and personal life.
“I’m very, very contented with everything that I have. Siguro hindi ko alam kung good trait ba ‘yung contentment, o bad trait ba ‘yun, pero I’m happy, I’m happy with everything that I’m getting.”
She also expressed gratitude for the opportunities she received recently in her career.
“Kung mabakante man ako sandali, magpapasalamat ako sa oras ng pahinga. Kung magkakaroon ako ng trabaho, magpapasalamat ako dahil ito nanaman may chance nanaman ako nga ipakita syempre sa mga tao ‘yung kaya kong gawin.
“Sa awa naman ni Lord, hindi naman ako nababakante, pero sobrang kontento ako sa lahat ng mayroon ako ngayon. Totoo ‘yung sinabi ni Diego na I’m in a good place right now in my life.
“I don’t look at work as a chance to be famous, tinitignan ko siya kung paano siya dapat tignan, at trabaho lang po ‘yun. Actually, hindi lang, trabaho po ‘yun. Hindi siya para sa ano man, kasi gusto ko siyang ginagawa.”
Benitez won the 2022 elections and became the Mayor-elect of Victorias City.
