On Monday, June 13, actress-dancer Dawn Chang was glad that the retired Commission on Elections (Comelec) commissioner Rowena Guanzon was trying to put Atty. Ferdinand Topacio “into place.”
It can be recalled that Topacio recently filed a graft complaint against Guanzon for disclosing her vote on the disqualification case against presumptive President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
The two have already been gnawing at each other, with the accused lawyer claiming that the retired commissioner has Alzheimer’s. The latter, in 2020, already filed a disbarment case and unjust vexation against the former.
In a video uploaded on her Twitter account, Guanzon said, “Ferdinand Topacio will not stop until he is stripped [of] his license to practice. Because he is using—being a lawyer to facilitate his commission of unlawful acts.”
She added, “So aside from this disbarment complaint, I will also be filing an unjust vexation case against him in the prosecutor’s office in Quezon City.”
Chang retweeted it with a caption, “People must be held responsible for their actions. Justice must be served.”

There is also bad blood between the Kapamilya artist.
Earlier in February, veteran showbiz reporter Cristy Fermin and Chang had an issue. The latter accused the former of “nakipaglandian sa mga boss” to become tenure in ABS-CBN.
This was refuted by the Kapamilya talent, threatening the reporter that she would be taking the matter to court. In retaliation, Fermin demanded an apology from one of the talent’s lawyers, Atty. Rafael Vicente Calinisan.
Both of them wanted a public apology from each other but until the writing of this article, none of them have said sorry.
Meanwhile, Chang, in a tweet on May 30, said that she is not taking “crap from nobody.”
Your first line of defense should be yourself. Take no crap from nobody.

Apart from Guanzon and Chang, Topacio also made an enemy out of Sen. Kiko Pangilinan, and Sharon Cuneta’s daughter, Kakie Pangilinan after he called her father a “lousy lawyer.”
