Kapuso comedienne Ai-ai delas Alas and content creator Darryl Yap were both declared persona non grata by the Quezon City council.
On Tuesday, June 7, the Quezon City council approved the resolution filed by 4th District Councilor Ivy Lagman declaring Delas Alas and Yap persona non grata for disrespecting and defacing the city’s official seal.
“The malicious and unscrupulous defacing of the official seal of Quezon City ridiculed and [cast] dishonor to it, causing insult to the noble representation of the seal,” said Lagman in her resolution.
“The people of Quezon City will not let anyone disgrace the official seal of Quezon City for personal and selfish interests,” she added.
The resolution stemmed from Yap’s anti-Joy Belmote campaign video featuring Ai-ai delas Alas which was posted on Yap’s FB page in April.
In the video where Ai-ai played Mayora Ligaya Delmote, it was clearly seen in the background a defaced the Quezon CIty seal with BBM Sara written on it.
