One true loyal Kapamilya, Judy Ann Santos returns on television via ABS-CBN’s Magandang Buhay.
On Tuesday, June 21, Juday stopped any rumors about network transfer when she made a TV comeback as guest co-host of Kapamilya morning talk show Magandang Buhay.
During the show, Juday shared how happy she was to be back on TV.
“Parang gusto kong mag-wish kasi first time ko ulit magka-live show. Nakakaloka ito.
“It has been one year na lumabas ako sa telebisyon and it’s always a good feeling to be back, especially here at the ABS-CBN compound. Napaka-familiar ng pakiramdam na makita ko kayong lahat ulit.”
Juday’s last Kapamilya TV show was the public affairs docu-drama Paano Kita Mapasasalamatan which aired at the height of the pandemic.
Judy Ann has spent almost all her showbiz years with ABS-CBN starting with Mara Clara. But her decades of being a Kapamilya are also marked by either rumor of a rift with ABS-CBN or network transfer.
In an exclusive interview with PEP in 2019, Juday revealed her love-hate relationship with the Kapamilya network.
Judy Ann recalled her disagreements with ABS-CBN when the network suddenly moved her teleserye Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala to a later timeslot.
“Parang hindi naman ito yung napag-usapan, pero nirerespeto ko na things change and you can’t really do anything about it. Parang sabi ko, ah ganong oras, may gising pa naman niyan for sure. Hanggang sa ililipat na ako sa alas-diyes, doon na yung parang ang dating sa akin, bakit hindi niyo na lang tapusin?”
The Queen of Soap Opera also added that every time she felt bad, she would always meet with the management, and they would always listen to her.
“They’re always good listeners naman. Siguro kasi ang lalim na ng relationship ko with them. Every time na may nararamdaman ako or may sama ako ng loob sa kanila, I’d set up a meeting and actually tell them kung ano yung nangyari. Gusto ko rin kasi marinig kung ano yung sa part nila.”
Thus she learned to adapt to their love and hate relationship.
“Love-hate talaga kami! Change is inevitable, if you resist change, maiiwan ka ng trend. So, you have to learn to adjust sa career, sa lahat. Basically, hindi lang naman sa pagiging artista, sa kabuuan ng buhay. Ang dating sa kin, hindi mundo ang mag-a-adjust sa’yo, ikaw ang mag-a-adjust.”
