Speaking for the first time about the state of her heart after calling it quits with her husband, Jason Hernandez, on national television, the ‘Malaya’ hitmaker expressed optimism about her future and moving on.
“Wala ito sa plano (this wasn’t one of my plans),” admitted Moira de la Torre, during her guesting on the ABS-CBN morning talk show, Magandang Buhay, on Monday, June 6.
She responded when asked about the state of her heart after announcing she and her husband of three years, Jason Marvin Hernandez, called it ‘quits’ last week.
The widely-streamed recording artist, however, showed no sign of hopelessness, as she expressed how she has been seeing her recent tragedy from a more optimistic angle.
“Pero ang galing kasi, kasi dito ko po natutunan na mabait talaga si Lord…kasi dito ko nakikita na puwede pala magsabay ‘yung grieving pati healing. Na parte pala ng grieving yung healing (But it’s been really amazing so far…because through it, I have learned that grieving and healing can be done simultaneously…that grieving is fundamental in our journey to healing),” she shared.
De la Torre shared how she can experience joy, even though she has been having tearful nights.
“Puwede pa pala na mahanap ko ‘yung sarili ko kahit na nawawala ako sa gabi (It fascinates me that I’m able to find myself again, even though I often get lost at night)”, she added, as she also shared that the heartbreak she is going through isn’t a familiar feeling.
“I realized na what the enemy meant for harm, the Lord always turn into beautiful things. And I know, lahat tayo…common denominator natin is, when all else fails, God never does,” said de la Torre, as she also recalled how her workmates at Idol Philippines helped her cope better with her situation.
“Feeling ko po kung hindi Idol season, or kung hindi ako binigyan ni Lord ng mga kaibigan ko ngayon, yung barkadao ko ngayon (I really feel that if its not for Idol Philippines and the friends the Lord sent me)…I don’t think I will be as strong.”
The hitmaker then shared that she might have just completed a new song out of her heartache.
“Hindi nyo kakayanin (You won’t be able to take it),” teased Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, who is also de la Torre’s fellow Idol Philippines judge, and among the first people to listen to her new song.
Idol Philippines will premiere on various ABS-CBN platforms very soon.
