TV5’s Masked Singer Pilipinas and ABS-CBN’s My Papa Pi both concluded on June 18 and earned the same rating.
According to the data of AGB Nielsen, it was a triple tie between Masked Singer Pilipinas, My Papa Pi, and GMA Network’s Dinofroz in the 26-28th spot of the rating chart. The three programs earned 1.5% ratings on June 18.
The second season of Masked Singer Pilipinas premiered on TV5 from March 19 to June 18. It succeeded Sing-Galing: Sing-lebrity Edition. This season featured sixteen masked celebrities. For the finals, Kris Lawrence, with the stage name “Panda” was hailed as the winner. Frenchi Dy (Crispy Patty), Arthur Nery (Jeepie), and Marion Aunor (Candylabra), ranked second, third, and fourth, respectively.
Masked Singer Pilipinas was hosted by Billy Crawford. Bayani Agbayani, Matteo Guidicelli, Kim Molina, Aga Muhlach, and Cristine Reyes, served as the panelists.
Meanwhile, the netizens’ call for a second season seemed to be granted by My Papa Pi’s producer as the said show had a cliffhanger ending on June 18. Popoy, played by Pepe Herrera, presumed to be a ghost, appeared alive and surprised Piolo Pascual (Pipoy), Pia Wurtzbach (Tere), and other characters of the sitcom.
My Papa Pi is directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina and aired for about three months. It also features the cast’s punchlines and chemistry, including Joross Gamboa, Frenchie Dy, Alora Sasam, Hyubs Azarcon, Katya Santos, Madam Inutz, Quincy Villanueva, Haiza Madrid, Anthony Jennings, and Daniela Stranner.
