Velasquez-Alcasid will temporarily relinquish her hosting duties to focus on Idol Philippines and her upcoming Iconic concert series with the Megastar Sharon Cuneta.
Avid followers of the morning talk show, Magandang Buhay, will be seeing a fresh but familiar face on their TV sets, very soon.
Award-winning actress, Judy Ann Santos, who is known as the Queen of Philippine Soap Opera, takes over Velasquez-Alcasid’s role as one of the three hosts of the morning talk show, the other being Pinog Big Brother inner, Melai Cantiveros and ‘90s fashion icon, Jolina Magdangal.
Judy Ann Santos’s Magandang Buhay stint notably marks the actress’s return to ABS-CBN, after a two-year break. Her last project with the network is the public-service/magazine program Paano Kita Mapapasalamatan. The show featured inspiring stories about unbroken chains of gratitude among various individuals.
Among Santos’s most recent other projects include the TV series, Starla (2019) and the award-winning film, Mindanao (2019), which scored wins at the 45th Metro Manila Film Festival, including the Best Picture trophy.
Magandng Buhay marks the first time Santos is hosting a morning talk show. She will reunite with her fellow Kapamilya superstar in the late ‘90s and early 2000s, Jolina Magdangal. Magdangal and Santos, notably are among the three fastest-rising and most in-demand leading ladies of ABS-CBN in the early 2000s, the other being Claudine Barretto.
As for Regine Velasquez-Alcasid who joined the show in February this year, she will be doing a series of concerts and tours this month, while she is also expected to dedicate her time as a full-time jury of the upcoming singing-reality search, Idol Philippines. The superstar singer joins Moira de la Torre, Chito Miranda, and Gary Valenciano, on the show’s judging table.
There is no confirmation yet on when exactly Velasquez-Alcasid will be returning to the show, but reports confirm that Santos will be just a guest co-host of Magandang Buhay.
