Kapamilya actor Joem Bascon on June 20, reacted to people calling him Piolo Pascual’s look-alike.

During the grand launch for Flower of Evil, Bascon highlighted that he focused on his passion for acting despite hearing people’s opinions about him looking like Pascual.

“Hindi siya choice para malayo sa news or doon sa mga nagsasabi na kamukha ko si Piolo. It’s more of gusto ko lang umarte talaga. Gusto ko lang umarte.

“Pero masaya, ilang years na rin ako sa showbiz, nandito pa rin ako kahit na andiyan pa rin ‘yung sinasabi na kamukha. Basta gawa lang, ng gawa ng trabaho kasi hindi naman matatapos pagbibigay.”

He then expressed happiness over working with Pascual on their most recent project.

“And, I’m happy kasi isa din si Piolo sa mga unang nakatrabaho ko sa ABS-CBN noong nag-start ako. So getting here na makatrabaho ko siya, maging kabarkada, maging kaibigan, masayang-masaya ako.

“Kasi alam mo ‘yun at the end of the day, kahit anong gawin namin sa set, ganito pa rin kami, makukulit pa rin kami.”

He revealed why he continued to accept daring projects.

“‘Yung sa mga daring projects, ‘yun ‘yung dumadating eh, kailangan ko mag-work.”

He also recounted why he wanted to become an actor because of his passion for acting.

“No, sa akin kahit kasi noong nag-i-start ako, after kong magawa ng una kong pelikula, gusto kong maging actor. And then, I wanted to do different roles, I wanted to learn different characters, different personalities, ‘yun nga ganon ‘yung trabaho namin.

“Hindi ka natitigil sa isang character lang. After ng isang character mo, gagawa at gagawa ka pa ng iba. Kung hindi man buhay ng tao bagong character ng tao.”

Bascon joins the cast of the Filipino adaptation of the Korean series Flower of Evil.

The series stars the newest Kapamilya Lovi Poe and Piolo Pascual with a Kapamilya teleserye all-star cast including JC de Vera, Agot Isidro, Denise Laurel, Epy Quizon, Rita Avila, Jett Pangan, Pinky Amador, Joross Gamboa, Joko Diaz, and Edu Manzano.

Flower of Evil is under the direction of Darnel Villaflor and Richard Arellano and premieres first on Viu on June 23 and 24 and Kapamilya Channel and A2Z on June 25 and 26.
