Kapamilya artist Ivana Alawi said she considered ABS-CBN her dream Network. During the media conference on May 24, for her upcoming series, A Family Affair, she expressed her excitement about signing her contract with the now-franchise-less media company.
“‘Yung nag-sign ako, I was very excited kasi kababalik ko lang. To just sign with ABS-CBN, kasi very important talaga ang ABS para sa akin. It’s very close to my heart, its my dream network.”
She then detailed how she learned to look at things in a positive light during the pandemic.
“And I was excited to start filming pero ‘yun nga in God’s perfect timing talaga, because it wasn’t my time kasi dumating na ‘yung COVID-19, dumating ‘yung pandemic, nag-lockdown tayo.
“So I learned more things habang naka-lockdown. I always try to look at things positively na parang kapag may nangyayari, may dahilan si God.”
She then thanked the Kapamilya Network for the opportunities she received in addition to her business and vlogging career.
“Feeling ko naman chill lang siya, oo chill ang siya kasi, nagte-taping, ayun chill lang.
“Aside from being chill lang, of course, I feel very blessed, and I feel very grateful na nabibigyan ako ng mga ganitong opportunities, and for them to trust me with this good project.”
Alawi started her career in GMA Network’s artist search competition, StarStruck, in 2015. She then stayed with GMA for a year and decided to take on Kapamilya projects in 2018 with Precious Hearts Romances and Ang Probinsyano.
In between her transition from GMA Network to ABS-CBN, she focused on her vlogs, which resulted in her large following on social media.
Now, Alawi stars in the upcoming Kapamilya series, Family Affair. Her leading men include Gerald Anderson, Sam Milby, Jameson Blake, and Jake Ejercito.
Alawi dons the character of Cherry Red, while her four leading men portray the Estrella brothers.
Raymund Ocampo and Jerome Pobocan direct the series, and premieres on Kapamilya platforms soon.
