Our fathers, dads, and tatays are truly legendary. From helping provide for all the needs at home, to serving as our tutor, driving instructor, all-around handyman, and so much more, they have such a consequential role in our lives.
So for this Father’s Day, it is only fitting to recognize them as “legendaddies” and celebrate their role as providers who are always ready to do anything and everything for their families.
To help us make the most of Father’s Day, the City of Firsts prepared a few things that you can do to show dad how much you love and value him:
1. Get extra sporty and active.
Dads are almost always united in their love for basketball. So, on June 19, during Father’s Day, give dad a sports treat that he surely won’t forget. On June 19, bring them to Farmers Plaza as Araneta City transforms the mall’s activity area into a half court. Get a chance to show off your basketball skills and watch (or even play with) b-ball brothers Juan and Javi Gomez de Liaño.
You can also show online how your dad made you the sports buff that you are today. Just post a photo of your dad on Facebook wearing his favorite jersey and then share a short caption telling how he made you fall in love with sports. Check out the entire mechanics of this promo on Araneta City’s social media pages.
2. Geek out on cop-worthy kicks.
Is your dad a sneakerhead? Then he’ll surely have fun at the Father’s Day exhibit at the Gateway Mall Activity Area from June 19 to 24. Get to see some of the most coveted sneakers from various brands brought to us by Rhand Rhelle. Whether dad’s looking for Supreme Tribal Barbed Wire or that Air Jordan 4 Retro that will complete his collection, this is the place to be.
3. Get some seriously good deals on furniture and tools
We know there’s nothing quite like a good deal to put a smile on dad’s face. That’s why Araneta City has made it a point to bring together some great offerings from stores like Handyman and Farmers Bazaar tenants. From June 16 to 24, you and dad can find some interesting finds at the Father’s Day Bazaar at the Farmers Plaza Activity Center.
Meanwhile, a separate Father’s Day Bazaar at the MacArthur side of Ali Mall will house some awesome savings for home furnishings that will surely give new life to your home. This bazaar will run from June 18 to July 2. So if you really want to make dad’s day, treat him to a day of shopping at the City of Firsts.
4. Celebrate dad with a feast and a toast
After all the fun activities that you’ve had throughout Araneta City, we’re sure that you and dad would have worked up quite the appetite. For a deliciously sumptuous Father’s Day meal, head over to Food Express, Food Plaza, Food Gallery, or Dampa at Farmers Market and enjoy a refreshing can of Lemon-Dou (available in Signature Lemon, Honey Lemon, or Devil Lemon variants) FOR FREE for every ₱260 single or accumulated receipt. So make a date out of your day out with dad!
