Is The Voice airing soon on the GMA Network?
Rumors have it that the successful Kapamilya reality singing competition The Voice PH is transferring soon to the Kapuso network.
According to the grapevine, The Voice franchise got bought by the GMA Network and will soon air on the Kapuso channel.
News about the possible crossover came up alongside rumors of Sarah Geronimo’s network transfer.
Recently, a fan-made art card circulated on social media saying: The Biggest Artist in the 21st Century will be a Kapuso.
The art card contains a half-covered photo, and Sarah G can be easily be identified through her eyes.
Sarah Geronimo is one of the main coach-judges of The Voice with Lea Salonga and Bamboo.
The Voice PH started airing on June 15, 2013, replacing Pilipinas Got Talent.
The pilot episode became a huge success in ratings as it catapulted to the number 1 spot on the rating board for both its timeslot and the overall primetime programming with a rating of 27.7% on AGB Nielsen and 30.5% on Kantar Media.
Following the success of its first season, it got renewed for another one that started airing on October 26, 2014. The 2nd season pilot was also a success as it ranked number 1 again in Kantar Media with a rating of 28.3% and number 2 in AGB Nielsen with 22.4%.
After 2 seasons, The Voice PH made two spin-offs, The Voice Kids and The Voice Teens also made huge success not only in ratings as well as social media reception.
The Voice Teens Season 2 aired last in August 2020 despite ABS-CBN’s free-TV shutdown after its franchise renewal got killed by Congress. It aired on ABS-CBN’s Kapamilya Channel on Cable TV.
Meanwhile, aside from success in ratings and netizens’ reception, The Voice PH franchise was also successful in producing some of the brightest OPM singers today.
From season 1 it had Mitoy Yonting, Klarisse de Guzman, Morrissette Amon and Jessica Reynoso. Meanwhile, Season 2 produced the likes of Jason Dy, Timmy Pavio, Alisah Bonaobra, and Daryl Ong.
For The Voice Kids, it has paved the way for the careers of Lyca Gairanod, Darren Espanto, JK Labajo, Kyle Echarri, and Elha Nympha.
And for The Voice Teens, there were Isabella Vinzon and Jeremy Gliboga.
