According to a recent survey, GMA Network scored the highest trust rating among other top Philippine news brands.
In the 2022 Digital News Report survey conducted by the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism from January 18 to February 2 and released on June 15, 2022, GMA Network emerged as the most trusted news brand in the country.
GMA Network scored 70% trust score and 10% distrust score to rank number 1 among 15 other Philippine news brands included in the study.
The Manila Bulletin followed it with a 66% trust score and 10% distrust score. Tied in the 3rd spot are Philippine Daily Inquirer and Super Radyo DZBB, with 65% trust scores and 13% and 10% distrust scores, respectively. And Philippine Star in 4th with 64% and 11% trust and distrust scores.
Despite losing its franchise, ABS-CBN’s Teleradyo placed 5th with a trust score of 63% and distrust of 10%. Tied with Teleradyo in the number 5 spot are TV5 and DZRH, with the same trust and distrust scores of 63% and 10%.
On the other hand, the main ABS-CBN brand is at number 10 with a 52% trust score and 27% distrust score.
Meanwhile, although GMA Network maintained its number 1 position from the 2021 DNR Report, its trust rating slid by 4% from its 74% trust score last year and a point increase in distrust from 9% to 10%.
DNR 2022 Report is based on a survey of 93,432 people, including 2,023 Filipino adults. Survey respondents came from 46 media markets on 6 continents around the world.
