The series’ unstoppable record-breaking spree continued last night, June 16, as viewers followed Cardo Dalisay’s quest to stay alive and escape Lito Valmoria’s exploding wrath.
Teasing the arrival of a new important character, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano ended its episode last night, June 16, with a brand new concurrent viewership high.
Perhaps, to understand how sensational the Kapamilya drama’s feat last night, was, it is worth noting that the series was able to obliterate the historic figure set by Boy Abunda’s presidential interview on the president-elect, Ferdinand Marcos Jr, on January 25, 2022. That interview drew a peak of 306,000 users, who concurrently watched the episode on the TV show host’s official YouTube channel.
A day earlier, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano saw its concurrent viewers peaking at 287,000 for the first time. That record got quickly relegated to second place, as live viewers for the June 16 (titled ‘Habulan’) episode, soared beyond 321,000, shattering all previous records set by any airing local drama, on YouTube. The series, however, is yet to topple Ms. Universe Philippines, whose live viewers skyrocketed to 641,000, when it was streamed live on ABS-CBN Entertainment’s official Youtube channel, on April 30.
FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’s continuing record-setting craze notably comes ahead of its rumored finale, although no official confirmation has been released yet. New records seem poised to be made in the coming episodes, as the events on the show keep intensifying, with the latest developments suggesting some major characters may be facing demise soon. Whether one of those departing characters will be Cardo Dalisay, seem to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
On its sneak peek for its upcoming episode, the series teased the arrival of a new, major character, played by no other than Ms. Charo Santos-Concio.
Several characters, including those played by the late Susan Roces and early 2000s teen star, John Wayne Sace, were already killed off. It remains to be seen whether Julia Montes’s character, Mara met the same fate.
