Dawn Chang opened up about the ‘toxic’ Filipino culture of making children be the retirement funds of their parents.
In her Tweet on June 24, Dawn shared a post by One News about a Filipino culture that is ‘toxic.’
“Parents must not expect their children to repay debt of gratitude through financial support,” the post reads.

Dawn wanted to let the people know that this practice is toxic and should be stopped.
“Let us please put an end to this toxic Filipino tradition,” she said.
According to the post by One News, children should not be obligated to repay their debt of gratitude to their parents through financial means.
“Your parents are NOT your emergency fund…Your children are NOT your retirement fund,” said financial expert Cliff Constante.
Constante explained that parents should know the value of saving money to not rely on their children when they retire.
On the other hand, Dawn Chang also opened up about abortion.

She said that people should not only care about the fetus but also the mother, who might be innocent and helpless.
She also said that contraceptives are not accessible to everyone; that’s why abortion can be an option.
Is fetus considered a child? Have you thought what if it’s the other way arround.. An innocent and helpless mother? https://t.co/5dbOCOPVaT

Unfortunately people who are struggling to make ends meet cannot afford contraceptives (What do we do about this is another issue). The latter is not considered abortion – it’s miscarriage. https://t.co/A4MsBUfldS
