A BBC executive lauded the success of “The Broken Marriage Vow” which has been continuously doing good in the rating game.
The said drama series is a Philippine adaptation of the original BBC series “Doctor Foster.”
During the finale press conference of The Broken Marriage Vow in June 2022, André Renaud, SVP Format Sales for BBC Studios, said that ABS-CBN did a good job producing the show.
“It’s been a pleasure to see the development of Drama Republic’s ‘Doctor Foster’ from Mike Bartlett’s brilliant original concept into the exciting story of ‘The Broken Marriage Vow’ that ABS-CBN Entertainment has brought to the Filipino audience.”
Renaud then praised Connie Macatuno for highlighting local designers in the show.
“This series has shown that we can watch a story become unique all over again when given a local setting and connecting to the lives of a new audience.
“‘The Broken Marriage Vow’ has set out to do this from Deo Endrinal and director Connie Macatuno’s original vision and commitment to celebrating local artists, designers, and craftworkers, ensuring that Dr. Jill’s story reflects back to viewers their every day while taking them away from it at the same time,” Renaud said.
The BBC executive thanked the cast members of The Broken Marriage Vow and the crew behind the show.
“I send my best wishes to the entire cast, effortlessly led by Jodi Sta. Maria, Zanjoe Marudo, and Sue Ramirez, the crew, the writers, producers, and the executives at ABS-CBN, Mr. Carlo Katigbak, Mrs. Cory Vidanes, Lauren Dyogi, and countless others for their support on this project from the beginning,” said Renaud.
The Broken Marriage Vow is nearing its end as it is in its last 3 weeks of airing.
Once torn apart by her husband’s betrayal, Jill (Jodi Sta. Maria) is ramping up her efforts to protect her dignity and her son Gio (Zaijian Jaranilla).
