Awra Briguela’s phone was snatched while watching UAAP women’s volleyball in SM Mall of Asia Arena on Tuesday, June 21.
In a series of tweets, Briguela narrated the incident and asked for help from the netizens.
“End up sobrang dami pong nanakawan same time and same spot. So please po pa-send ng video, ramdam ko po navideohan talaga yung nagnakaw,” Briguela wrote.

He added, “Sa lahat po ng may video ko sa MOA kanina after game, kindly send me the video nanakawan po kasi kasama ko ng phone and cash habang madaming nagpapa picture. DOOR 218 po ako nun thank you po.”
Briguela said the experience was traumatic for him.
He wrote, “Grabe talaga kanina yung experience ko sa moa arena nakaka trauma. ang babastos na malikot pa kamay. Ayaw magsipag trabaho nang maayos, sobrang nakakagalit hindi nakakaawa.
“Grabe ang modus nila sobrang daming nagpapapicture tapos pag nagkakagulo na, galaw na ang mga kupal magnakaw.”
He asked the snatcher to return his cellphone. He also promised to give him money without revealing his identity.
“Again sa kumuha ng phone pakibalik na lang po kasi hindi n’yo rin po talaga ‘yan mapapakinabangan. I will give you cash pa po pag binalik n’yo. Yung 5k na nakuha then dodoblehin ko, you can dm me promise hindi ko expose kung sino ka. Sobrang dami lang important files sa phone,” he said.

Briguela gained recognition when he starred in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, personally chosen for the role by the show’s lead actor Coco Martin. Briguela’s life was featured in a titular episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya in 2016.
