Seasoned actor Ariel Rivera admitted on Monday, May 30, that it felt good to become a Kapuso once again.
The actor-singer’s last project with GMA Network was in 2017, when he did the fantasy series Mulawin vs. Ravena.
He was with ABS-CBN and TV5 before signing a contract with the Kapuso Network in 2021. He then landed a lead role alongside Beauty Gonzalez and Sid Lucero in The Fake Life’s upcoming drama series.
In the virtual media conference of the series, he revealed, “Sa ngayon wala. But I would love to stay—I love GMA. I have always loved GMA.”
Rivera added, “I have so many so many friends here in GMA, and I hope we have future plans, I really do.”
The actor even compared the environment between the Kapuso Network and the other TV stations that he has been with.
“I like how the atmosphere here in GMA,” pointed Rivera. “I’ll be honest with you, how the staff are, the people we work with, they are down to earth they are then some of the people that I worked with.”
During his stint as a Kapatid, he did a Lunch Out Loud, a noontime variety show. Unfortunately, he was included in the cost-cutting measures implemented by Brightlight Productions, forcing him to leave the program.
Rivera also shared that he would not like to do another variety show.
“Ayoko na. Hindi ako open, hahaha,” he said.
The actor explained that weekends would be dedicated to his family and not work.
“Gusto ko weekends, I don’t like working weekends, that’s basically what it is. That time is for myself, my wife, and my dog.”
Fake Life is directed by Adolf Felix Jr. and includes Tetchie Agbayani, Regina Reyes, Jenny Miller, Bryan Benedict, Carlos Dala, Faye Lorenzo, Saviour Ramos, Shanelle Agustin, and Will Ashley.
