Incoming Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Chief Atty. Trixie Angeles was in a hot seat after her past anti-Marcos tweets and social media posts resurfaced online.
Following her appointment as the next PCOO Chief for the incoming Marcos Jr. government, the internet quickly remembers how she previously viewed the Marcos family.
Economist and Rappler columnist JC Punongbayan shared Angeles’ 2013 tweet where she said that “True justice is when we see at least Imelda Marcos in jail.”

Netizen @wleviosa22 also dug another Angeles’s social media remark this time saying Marcos Jr. is complicit in the sins of his father, the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr.
“Not true that he did not have anything to do with the father. He uses ill gotten wealth. That is complicity after the fact.”

@Iamcharotism also shared screenshots of her two statements against the Marcoses.

Following the buzz on her previous remarks against his current boss Marcos Jr., Angeles immediately clarified those statements.
In her statement during Marcos Jr.’s first press briefing after his proclamation on May 26, Angeles explained that she had “changed her mind” on her previous comments against the Marcoses.
“I’ve told my story about how and when I changed my mind about it.”
The incoming PCOO chief also defended herself.
“Aren’t people entitled to change their minds? I think we are ‘di ba?” Cruz-Angeles told reporters.
“I think that evolution is a natural thing even among our consciousness.”
Meanwhile, lawyer and senatorial candidate Atty. Luke Espiritu also took to twitter to share an old photo that he said was taken by Atty. Trixie Angeles.
In his tweet, Espiritu shared his dismay on Angles who according to him was a former ally in the anti-Arroyo struggle.
“This picture was taken by Trixie Cruz-Angeles way back in 2009. We were once allies in the Anti-Arroyo struggle. Now we are worlds apart belonging to opposing camps. Ahhh… lawyers.”
