The Broken Marriage Vow emerged victorious in the rating game after its second match with GMA Network’s Mano Po Legacy: Her Big Boss, on Tuesday, May 17. The Jodi Sta. Ria-starrer recently adjusted to a later time slot to accommodate the TV debut of KathNiel’s comeback series, 2 Good 2 Be True on May 16. The Dr. Foster Filipino adaptation now airs on the time slot that the recently-concluded TV series, Viral Scandal, vacated.
While The Broken Marriage Vow has been a consistent online winner with humongous live concurrent live viewers, it never won its old time slot in the rating game. False Positive, which it went head-to-head with for two weeks, was a clear time slot winner with a 2-3% lead in the rating game. With its new time slot, however, the Kapamilya series seems to be in pretty good shape to topple its new Kapuso rival. It did just that, yesterday, May 17.
According to the latest people rating from AGB Nielsen’s National Urban TV Measurement (NUTAM) data, The Broken Marriage Vow finally scored its first win in the rating game, with a 6.0% people rating. That’s 0.3% higher than Mano Po Legacy: Her Big Boss’s 5.7%. The Kapuso series is the second installment of the new Kapuso drama anthology, based on Regal Entertainment’s successful movie franchise, Mano Po.
Like it was teased a few weeks ago, The Broken Marriage Vow is truly headed to the exciting part, as Dr. Jill (Jodi Sta. Maria) is just a few steps closer to completing her revenge against her ex-husband, David (Zanjoe Marudo). Viewers are also looking forward to finding out if the Filipino version will stick to its source material’s original ending.
Before getting transferred to its new time slot, the Kapamilya series notably reclaimed its spot on the Top 5 most-watched shows on Thursday, May 12. Given its later new time slot, there is a slimmer chance to repeat such a feat, but it will be interesting if the series could extend its win against Mano Po Legacy: Her Big Boss.
