The newest GMA Afternoon drama Raising Mamay, started low compared to the ratings of its preceded show, Little Princess.
On April 25, Raising Mamay, starring Ai-ai Delas Alas in the title role, premiered in the GMA Network Afternoon Prime lineup, replacing the top-rated show Little Princess.
Little Princess concluded on April 22 in the 7th spot of the AGB Nielsen rating chart with a 7.0% rating.
Raising Mamay failed to keep up with this rating during its pilot week.
Raising Mamay earned a 5.6% rating for its pilot episode and settled in the 8th spot.
The following day, Raising Mamay tied with Artikulo 247 in the 8-9th spot with an improved rating of 5.9%.
On April 27, the rating of Raising Mamay again improved to 6.1% and secured the 8th spot in the rating chart.
The following day, Raising Mamay dropped to the 9th rank with a 5.8% rating.
As the week ended, Raising Mamay remained in the 9th spot but, it improved its rating to 6.5%.
The performance of Raising Mamay during its pilot week is similar to that of Little Princess.
Little Princess debuted on January 20 with a 5.9%, ranking 6th in the chart. Its highest rating during its pilot week peaked at 6.7%.
Raising Mamay features Abigail (Shayne Sava), a teenager who looks after her disdainful mother, Letty (Ai-ai Delas Alas), who was shot and suffered from brain regression. After discovering her mother’s shooter, Abigail finds her true identity.
Also part of the cast are Gary Estrada as Randy Renancia, Antonio Aquitania as Bong “Daday” Sandejas, Valerie Concepcion as Sylvia Gonzales-Renancia, Ina Feleo as Malou Reyes, and Joyce Ching as Arma Villasis.
