On May 23, Kapamilya actor Piolo Pascual stated that he never dwells in someone’s past.
During the media conference for the poster reveal of Flower of Evil, Pascual said he prefers to deal with someone’s present rather than their past.
“As they always say, past is past. As long as the person is always honest with their ‘present,’ I think that’s /what matters. And you discover whatever you discover through that person’s commitment and honesty, and you know loyalty to you as time goes by.”
He also highlighted how a person’s present would define their future.
“It’s ‘give and take’ naman–so you can earn that through time. But for me, (you) never dwell in the past. Because at the end of the day–that’s a person’s problem or the person’s situation, so, you’re out of that, what you’re dealing with in the present that will define the future. I think that’s what matters to me more.”
Pascual stars alongside the new Kapamilya actress Lovi Poe in the upcoming Pinoy adaptation of the Korean series Flower of Evil, which deals with someone’s dark past.
Pascual then noted how the Flower of Evil stars created their own interpretations of their characters compared to the Korean version of the series.
“And you have to create your own. I mean, (at the end of the day), it’s not about copying, but it’s about coming up with something new, something that can be more exciting for the audience na not to compare– I mean, we’re so passed that, eh.”
He also addressed ABS-CBN and Viu’s collaboration in widening Flower of Evil’s reach.
“So ang ibibigay naming flavor is personal, with the collaboration–with everyone–especially Viu for giving us the network, being shown in /bigger/ markets, or the region. ‘Yun pa lang that’s already a big inspiration.”
Joining the Kapamilya stars in the series are ABS-CBN talents including, JC de Vera, Agot Isidro, Denise Laurel, Joem Bascon, Epy Quizon, Rita Avila, Jett Pangan, Pinky Amador, Joross Gamboa, Joko Diaz, and Edu Manzano.
