Several netizens slammed former Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental and current Net25 News Anchor Emma Tiglao after she called VP Leni’s supporters “Pinklawan” in her news program.
Tiglao is currently one of the anchors in Net25’s Mata ng Agila, together with Vic de Leon Lima and Alex Santo.
During their May 12 newscast, she read the news about the missteps of the Pink Movement during the campaign that cost Robredo’s candidacy.
“Balot ng sama ng loob ngayon ang supporters ng Leni-Kiko tandem o mas kilala sa mga Pinklawan pero saan nga ba sila nagkamali dahil ang inaasahan nilang tagumpay nauwi sa masakit na pagkatalo.”

The news clip quickly made rounds on social media, particularly on twitter, which generated ‘negative’ reactions from furious Kakampink netizens.
Netizen @Jeniieandpeers blasted Emma and said she should have skipped the term or made an adlib cause it showed bias and bullying against the supporters of VP Leni.
“Emma Tiglao yan? Hanung nangyari kay Ate ghorl? Pwede ba niang i-omit ung word na un sa script nia? Peo shuta ang bias nung buong script may halong bullying. Credible news site ba yan? Ito na ang new normal sa atin, kaya ndi talaga pwede ang radikal love sa bastos era.”

@supervinchi also shared his sentiment saying Emma won’t accept feedback on her IG account as she keeps on deleting comments not favorable to her.
“Commented on her IG post and she’s deleting comments that criticizes the words she used in her newscast. Isnt it the responsibility of journos to accept feedback, may it be positive or negative, about the news they deliver? Kung ayaw nya yung nangyayari, well it doesn’t show.”

@sephyagluba said as a news anchor she has the responsibility to check the news items first before reading them aloud on air.
“As reporter/anchor meron siyang choice and it’s part of her responsibility to check first the news items to be read and revise it if may need i-revise pero hindi niya ginawa.”

“Wala syang integrity! Dapat lang sya sa network na kinabibilangan nya”

“Sobrang layo na ng mukha niya sa dati. Mukha na siyang avatar. Siguro naman she has the right to refuse to say those words kung iaapply niya ang ethics sa journalism.”

“Same thoughts here, if she truly doesn’t like what’s happening right now, she could have at least stand her ground and not use that term. Very unprofessional, very unbecoming of a beauty queen. It’s a blessing in disguise na nagpaalam na siya sa mundo ng pageantry.”
