On April 27, seasoned actress Maricel Laxa revealed what lured her back into acting.
During the media conference for Apoy Sa Langit, Laxa said her kids pushed her back in front of the camera.
“My kids–yes, sabi nila, ‘Mom, it’s fine, you’ve given us enough time. It’s time for you to shine now.'”
She admitted that she didn’t expect to get her second wind as an actress.
“And I didn’t think of myself coming back to showbiz, or even imagining na magkakaroon pa ako ng second wind and season na mae-enjoy ko talaga. Ngayon I’m just so happy that I have their blessing and excited silang malaman ano ‘yung mga bago kong natutunan.”
She also highlighted exploring and growing as an actress when she returned to the limelight.
So the opportunities presented themselves at the perfect time.”
She also appreciated the chance to work again with the actors she had worked with before.
She then expressed her excitement about her future as an actress under the Kapuso network.
Kaya exciting. I’m thankful and excited for more things to come.”
Laxa stars in the upcoming Kapuso teleserye Apoy sa Langit alongside Zoren Legaspi, Mikee Quintos, and Lianne Valentin.
Joining them are a powerhouse cast with Mariz Ricketts, Carlos Siguion-Reyna, Dave Bornea, Coleen Paz, Celine Fajardo, Patricia Ismael, and Mio Maranan.
Apoy sa Langit premieres on May 2, Mondays to Saturdays, after Eat Bulaga on GMA Afternoon Prime.
