Mars Ravelo’s Darna: The TV Series lead star Jane de Leon revealed on Thursday, May 19 that she could not believe that her show will finally be pushing through.
In 2020, the Darna project was previously shelved due to the pandemic. It saddened the star since she was announced to lead the show as early as 2019.
“I’m deeply saddened by the postponement of the Darna project. However, safety comes first as always,” she said in a statement.
But the next year, de Leon made her exit to the longest-running Kapamilya series FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano. The reason was that the taping of her show will already commence.
She was part of the action-packed teleserye for six months.
Recalling her experience wearing the iconic Darna headdress for the first time, the actress realized that “this is it!”
“Actually, headdress pa lang, pagkasuot sa akin, nangiyak-ngiyak na po talaga ako—umiyak po talaga ako,” she shared.
“Kasi parang biglang after ilang years? Siguro since 2019 po kasi ako in-announce eh. Nasukat ko yung costume last year. So parang doon pa lang sa ‘kin nag-sink in na, ‘Heto na po talaga, this is it.'”
De Leon’s statement came after her introduction as the new face of Santé Barley and Daily-C.
The actress was honored that she was chosen to be its ambassador.
“I am very grateful to be part of the Santé family. As the new brand ambassador of Santé Barley and Daily-C, I hope that I can encourage more Filipinos to take care of their health so that they can take good care, even more, of their families and loved ones,” she expressed.
In the meantime, based on the recent teaser of the show, she will soon be flying in Mars Ravelo’s Darna: The TV Series.
