After being relegated to the fourth spot for a week, the longest-running primetime action-drama series successfully reclaimed its spot among the three most-watched shows on Philippine television.
The intensity of GMA network’s Widow’s Web finale week displaced the six-year-old Kapamilya show off the top 3, briefly after becoming the most-watched drama in the country for the first time in months.
The Coco Martin-starrer managed to nudge GMA Network’s First Lady that reigned as the number one drama since its debut in February. FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano narrowly beat the Kapuso top rater, with a mere 0.1% lead, on April 22.
The Kapamilya drama’s victory, however, was short-lived, as Widow’s Web, surprisingly swooped from behind to claim the third spot, while First Lady managed to return to the top. On Monday, April 25, Widow’s Web was ahead of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, by just 0.1%. AGB Nielsen reported the Kapuso drama thriller posted a 12% people TV rating, while the Kapamilya show rated 11.9%. It is also worth noting that Widow’s Web was well ahead of its timeslot rival, The Broken Marriage Vow that rated a 7.4% on the same day.
Widow’s Web continued its winning streak until its very last episode on Friday, April 29, which gave the show a 12.2% TV rating, its highest since its debut on February 28. FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano and The Broken marriage Vow, on the other hand, rated 10.4% and 6.7%, respectively. Widow’s Web aired a total of only 43 episodes.
With Widow’s Web ending its successful run after just barely two months on the air, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano quickly climbed the chart. It prevented the new Kapuso show, False Positive, from taking the spot its predecessor vacated.
On Monday, the Kapamilya primetime series bounced back into the top three with a 10.1% AGB Nielsen National Urban TV Measurement (NUTAM) people rating.
First Lady, however, kept its grip on the top spot with 13.9%. False Positive, the new show starring Glaiza de Castro and Xian Lim, rated 9.6%.
